**APPLICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE CLOSED FOR 2025-2026 SEASON**

DSPA Gems, Inc. Announces $8000 in Performing Arts Tuition Grants

Maricopa, AZ – April 12, 2025 – DSPA Gems, Inc. is excited to announce the availability of a minimum of $8000 in performing arts tuition grant money. As a local non-profit dedicated to providing performing arts opportunities to children regardless of a family’s financial ability, DSPA Gems, Inc. continues to support the community through generous contributions and fundraising activities. "We are thrilled to offer these grants to help young artists pursue their passion for the performing arts," said Shannon Wallace Soto, President of DSPA Gems, Inc. "Thanks to our supporters and fundraising efforts, we can make a difference in the lives of many children in our community."

Funds were raised through various successful fundraising activities, including the Inaugural Hot Wing Challenge and our Semi Annual Sugar Plum Tea, which featured ticket sales, silent auction bids, and the purchase of flowers and song dedications.

Grant Application Details:

To qualify for the grant, applicants must:
● Be aged 2-18 years old and reside in Arizona
● Show proof of enrollment in upcoming performing arts classes (previous enrollees must have followed class rules and maintained regular attendance)
● Demonstrate financial need per the debt-to-income ratio worksheet or by qualifying for the reduced/free lunch program through an Arizona public school
● Provide IRS tax returns of the parent(s) or guardian(s) from the past 2 years
● Write an age-appropriate essay explaining their desire to participate in performing arts

Selection Process:
Grant recipients are selected by the DSPA Gems, Inc. selection committee based on available funds and demonstrated need. Programs involving activities considered a sport are not eligible.

Recipient Requirements:
Grant recipients are required to:
● Attend performing arts classes regularly and follow all applicable rules
● Maintain an account in good standing with the performing arts class provider
● Complete the required number of community service hours as determined by Gems Board

Application Submission:
Applications, along with detailed requirements, can be picked up at Desert Sun Performing Arts, 19756 N. Maricopa Rd., Suite 107, Maricopa, AZ, 85139. Applications must be post-marked by May 15, 2025, and will be awarded by June 15, 2025.

Applications are due and must be post-marked, no later than Friday May 15, 2025. Grants will be awarded by May 31, 2025.
